Dorothea Wierer is the queen of the World Cup so far with two individual golds in the chase and distance plus a silver in the mixed relay. The 29-year-old drove home the latter medal with Lisa Viittozzi, who had spoken about her teammate just days before the World Cup started.

The reason was that the then World Cup Wierer did not appear in the women's relay at the World Cup in Östersund. Something that made the teammate and the World Cup woes look red as she missed valuable World Cup points in the hunt for the overall victory.

- We're not friends. We are teammates and respect each other. I am no longer cold towards her but sporting is something I had not done. Me and she have two opposite personalities and then you don't always get along, Vittozzi told Italian Messaggero Veneto.

The play just before the championship was not appreciated by Wierer who thought the timing was pretty bad. And Wierer says that she would not have been able to compete in the competition even if she had wanted to, where Sweden took silver and Italy missed the medal.

- No, I was sick so I couldn't start. It is clear that she was disappointed that she did not win the overall cup. But I was in the singles mix team and she was in the relay team. So it was the same situation for us, says Dorothea Wierer to SVT Sport.

The Italian will run the single mix relay with Lukas Hofer and now wants to run the relay. Lisa Vittozzi has had a heavy World Cup since the silver in the mixed relay and shot eight beams in the distance, becoming 71st.

But the teammates have still not talked about the situation, which became a huge snack ice cream in the press.

Have you talked about it now?

- No, she never came to me. She has only talked about it in the media. So it is very strange for everyone involved.

Has what she said influenced you so that you stand in the ladies' relay this year?

- No. I want to compete for everyone who wants to come and cheer on me and this is my home course. There are many who can take the medal, but I will fight. I feel no pressure anymore after my hunting gold, so I can only enjoy and need not prove anything to anyone, she says.

On Saturday, Wierer and Vittozzi run the women's relay together for Italy in search of a medal.
