The night before Thursday, employees at the Thermo Fisher Scientific company in Uppsala were told that they should stay home and work because employees in the company might have been infected by the corona virus.
- It feels like there is a little panic everywhere, it is the world's appliance that has started now, but this is a pure safety measure. Now crisis meetings and information on how to handle the media are ongoing, one of the employees said Thursday.

During Thursday evening, it was found that one employee in Uppsala and three in Freiburg in Germany had been infected.
The company has around 700 employees in Uppsala and this is how the company now writes in an email to SVT:
“We have decided to close both departments in Freiburg and Uppsala for the rest of this week to take our health and safety measures, in line with WHO guidelines. We are in contact with local authorities and comply with all necessary regulations to ensure the safety and health of the employees ”. (editorial translation)
