On April 11, Assange was detained on the territory of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London in connection with a request for extradition by the United States.

He is currently under arrest.

On May 7, Wikileaks editor-in-chief Kristinn Hrafnsson and American actress Pamela Anderson visited Julian Assange in the British prison Belmarsh.
