A couple and their children found by the Savoy gendarmes hiking in ski in full confinement. A young woman who died after a fall in a massif in Isère and more recently two hikers in difficulty rescued in Chartreuse. Despite the confinement imposed as part of the fight against the coronavirus, several people have continued to practice activities in the mountains in recent days.

To enforce the obligations in progress on the national territory, the prefect of Haute-Savoie hardened the tone by taking in turn a decree prohibiting access to the mountains. "Despite the containment measures, too many activities in the mountains, mobilizing the rescue services have been noted", regrets on Twitter the prefect Pierre Lambert, whose decree prohibits all travel in the mountains within a radius of 100 meters from drop above the containment site.

Walks at altitude and of course outdoor activities are in fact prohibited. "These activities, often at risk, mobilize the emergency services very regularly and risk clogging the emergency and resuscitation units," added the prefect.

This decree follows similar measures taken in Isère and Savoie on March 19 and 20 by the prefects to prohibit all activity in the mountains. From these departments, as everywhere in France, it is possible within the framework of the exemptions in force to make "brief trips, within the limit of one hour daily and within a maximum radius of one kilometer around the home, related to the 'individual physical activity of people, to the exclusion of any collective sporting activity and any proximity to other people'.
