The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAA) has unveiled a project that is currently being studied in collaboration with a specialized international body in the genetic sciences, to develop a "genetic map" for livestock breeds in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in order to identify the best breeds that are suitable for the environment and achieve the highest productivity of farmers, to be presented to the owners of farms and breeders. During the opening of the first edition of the Eurotire Middle East exhibition on technology and investment in the livestock sector, hosted by Abu Dhabi under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority The percentage of local livestock production will rise to 65.5%, pledging to increase this percentage to 100% over the next five years to reach self-sufficiency stage.
The first edition of the Eurotire Middle East exhibition on technology and investment in the livestock sector kicked off yesterday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) with over 120 exhibitors representing 150 companies from 16 countries, including Saudi Arabia. Participates as a guest of honor for the first edition of the exhibition.
The exhibition, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, was inaugurated by Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Managing Director of the Community Development Department. Maryam Al Muhairi stressed that the exhibition represents a pioneering step towards enabling countries to enhance livestock production in the UAE and various countries of the world using modern technology, where the livestock sector contributes to improve food production and create new opportunities for this sector in the country in light of the many challenges that we face The most important is the desert and dry environment.

Saeed Al Bahri, Director General of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, praised the high turnout of exhibitors and the public which witnessed the first day of the exhibition "Eurotire Middle East", although organized for the first time in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, saying that this reflects the awareness of livestock breeders within The State and at the level of the Arab Gulf States, the importance of the continuous development of their projects to multiply the benefits for them and the region.
Al Ameri said in a press statement after the opening of the exhibition: "The aim of the exhibition in Abu Dhabi is to transfer modern knowledge in the best methods of production to increase the economic return," praising the increasing government support to farmers and livestock breeders in the country.

Thamer Al Qasimi, spokesman for the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, estimated the total livestock in Abu Dhabi at 3.5 million head, pointing out that this number is equivalent to the livestock in New Zealand, which is one of the exporters of livestock.
Al Qasimi, in a press statement on the sidelines of the exhibition, said: "The state uses the latest technologies in the field of breed improvement, especially with regard to the transfer of embryos and artificial insemination," pointing out that statistics show that the proportion of local livestock product is 65.5%, and there is a constant To increase this to 100% over the next five years.
He pointed out that the value of support to livestock breeders is up to 3 billion dirhams and is increasing continuously, noting that the Authority is currently going to partner with the private sector to provide the best services in this regard through the work of applied research that helps in this.
