In connection with the big wave of refugees in 2015, Mirhossein Shirazad came to Säffle, among others. He had fifteen years old moved from Afghanistan. At first he was expelled, but then he was rescued by the high school law.

The training was not approved

The municipality made a study plan and after first attending the upper secondary school's introduction program he ended up in adult education.

However, adult education does not correspond to upper secondary studies, the Migration Board believes.

- I have been helped by a teacher to write an appeal, but then the school does not think that more can be done, says Mirhossein.

Would increase the chances of getting a job

The municipality believes that they followed the high school law and had the best of the young people in focus when planning their studies. Attending vocational education would actually increase their chances of getting a job after graduation.

- I think it's hard, you just think about what's going to happen. I have no future in Afghanistan. There I know no one. I still lived in Sweden for five years.

In a comment to SVT Nyheter Värmland, the Swedish Migration Board says that Mirhossein has now also been rejected by the Migration Court and that the reason is that he has not reached high school level in his studies.
