The Supreme National Committee for Volunteerism Organized during the crises its first remote meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Chairman of the Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Foundation, following the approval of the Council of Ministers to form the committee and its tasks.

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan launched the "Emirates Volunteer" campaign to unify the voluntary activities at the country level.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness welcomed the members of the committee, stressing the need to enhance and unite the efforts of all in light of the importance of the current exceptional stage that the world and the UAE are going through during confronting the "Covid 19" virus.

His Highness said, "The UAE is the home of all citizens and residents, and we are able to address any challenges we face with cohesion and cooperation."

His Highness stressed, "We are keen, in cooperation with all concerned parties at the current stage, to document our national experience, and history will mention the exceptional role of the various bodies, their employees and volunteers, and the sacrifices and efforts they have made to overcome the current circumstances."

His Highness added, "Today we are stronger through our solidarity ... and the cooperation of our people ... and the support of all residents with us in the continuity of business and the responsibility to preserve the gains of the homeland and the safety of its residents."

The agenda of the meeting reviewed the tasks and responsibilities approved for the Supreme National Committee to organize volunteering during crises and developments in the situation and support the efforts of workers in various bodies and the roles and complementarity of roles under the leadership of the National Authority for Emergency and Crisis and Disaster Management and follow-up needs and requirements to provide protection and safety for all.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan pointed out the necessity of developing a clear and coherent framework for regulating volunteering in the country as well as developing the "UAE Volunteers" platform to be a flexible platform that accommodates all the needs of society in the country's voluntary sector, stressing the importance of the "Emirates Volunteering" campaign that contributes to the adoption and support of volunteers. At the state level.

His Highness pointed out the importance of following up and monitoring the public’s views and opening channels of communication with all groups of society in a way that supports the vision of leadership and work as well as a team to support the government's priorities in the current stage.

The “Emirates Volunteer” campaign - the national campaign to adopt and support volunteers at the state level - was launched in cooperation with the governmental, semi-governmental, voluntary and private sectors and aims to harness the skills and talents of members of society to protect and preserve the health of the most affected groups in it. The campaign provides volunteers with two types of volunteering: field volunteering and volunteering The default.

The campaign reflects the solidarity of all to support the priorities of the government at the current stage.
