His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, stressed that sustainability is a platform for work and a lifestyle in the UAE, and is considered a pillar for achieving prosperity in societies.

This came during his visit to the World Future Energy Summit, one of the activities of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2020, which continues until January 18, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.

His Highness pointed out that “(Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week) reflects the pioneering position of the UAE in terms of supporting global efforts to adopt the sustainability approach and the various initiatives that contribute to achieving comprehensive development in societies, as it is held annually to perpetuate the approach of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Who adopted sustainability as a working method to achieve progress in all fields. ”

His Highness stressed the importance of this global event, which is an inspiring platform for young people and future generations, to show them the future of this vital and important sector.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, started his tour with a visit to the pavilion of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, where he was received by the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zyoudi.

His Highness, inspecting the platform "Clix Forum", which is organized by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment for the third year in a row, and reviews the features of the future of sustainability in the fields of agriculture, space, energy and transportation.

His Highness was briefed on a number of innovative projects included in the platform, where he presented to its visitors 42 innovative projects that include weather satellites, ideas in automated agriculture, hydrogen fuel cells and fast charging networks for electric vehicles.

His Highness went to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) booth, where he was briefed by the people on the booth about the developments of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park project, the largest in the world and whose production capacity by 2030 reaches about 5000 MW.

His Highness came to the Expo 2020 Dubai pavilion and got acquainted with the role of the global exhibition in promoting awareness of sustainability and the importance of adopting renewable energy solutions, as this pavilion is an energy-saving and environmentally friendly platform that will be used and fully recycled after the end of the event. The people in charge of the pavilion took a group photo with his highness at the end of his visit to the pavilion.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan concluded his tour by visiting the pavilion of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company "Masdar", one of the "Mubadala Investment Company", where His Highness paused in front of the model presented in the pavilion for the company's renewable energy projects, and listened to an explanation from those responsible for it on the most prominent projects that Masdar implements them in many countries and contributes to spreading renewable energy solutions around the world.

His Highness was accompanied by the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs, Khalifa Shaheen Al-Murar.
