The rescue service received an alarm that it smelled of fire smoke in a multi-family house in the residential area Brittsbo in Östersund municipality. When they got there and went through the building, it was discovered that there was a fire in a bale of toilet paper in the attic and that the fire was burning.
The police came to the scene and conducted a crime scene investigation. A person is reasonably suspected of arson.
"I will not comment on the gender or age of the suspect," says Tobias Kajbring, the prosecutor who leads the preliminary investigation.
The suspect is not deprived of liberty.
- I cannot rule out that I will decide on coercive measures in this matter, he tells SVT Nyheter Jämtland.
