A 20-year-old medical student who came from Brest with other young people to the Deux-Alpes resort in Isère was found dead Thursday afternoon. His body was discovered in the Vénosc valley, a ravine between the station and the place called Vénosc. According to the gendarmes, he had dropped out of the nightclub.

The young man had been missing after leaving the nightclub around 3 a.m. on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. "He had left the group of friends with whom he was and for some reason would have gone in the wrong direction," said Yann Bertrand, commander of the La Mure gendarmerie company. In view of the observations, a priori, he made a fairly significant fall, more than 200 meters ”.

The privileged accident thesis

A few years ago, another young man fell into the same precipice under similar circumstances. If the investigation is still ongoing, "the thesis of the accident is privileged," added the squadron chief Bertrand.

A group of around 200 students from the University of Western Brittany (UBO) currently resides in the station, a stay which is not organized by UBO, the same source said.
