In the 77th minute of a 1-1 draw against Everton and Tottenham in the Premier League, the atmosphere at Goodison Park changed after Everton's Andre Gomez was injured.

After a fierce clash with Spurs striker Hyung Min-sun, Gomez appeared to have broken his foot, while Sun was given a straight red card, and Gomez left the pitch on a stretcher, replacing Gilvi Sigurdsson.

The striker reacted after being sent off and out of the stadium with tears and sorrow after being shocked by Gomez's severe injury. This reaction brought great sympathy to him on social media, although he was the one who caused the mistake.

Tottenham's Sergey Orrier's Ivory prayer scene also emerged as Gomez was being treated by the medical staff of Toviz on the pitch.

"Gomez's team mate Shimas Coleman suffered the same injury years ago," said former Liverpool star and sports analyst Jimmy Carragher. "Gomez himself may not be back. This type of injury is difficult to recover.

Spears captain Coleman, who suffered a similar injury in March 2017 and missed nearly a decade, went to Tottenham's dressing room after the match to console Sun.

Tottenham continued to disappoint in the Premier League after failing to win for the fourth game in a row.

Tottenham have 13 points in 11th place, while Everton have 11 points in 17th place (bottom fourth).
