According to the police, a girl in her late teens who lived in Rishiri Island, who had gone home and had been notified of a missing person by her family, was found in Wakkanai in the evening of 11th and was protected by a police officer.

Then, on the way back to the island by ferry with two police officers, he fell to the sea and was taken to the hospital but died.

At that time, just before the ferry arrived at the harbor at Rishiri Island, the girl suddenly jumped into the sea as she lined up with the other passengers in preparation for getting off.

The police are examining the detailed situation at the time.
