Al-Hakama Private School in Ajman has launched an initiative, the first of its kind in the country, to reduce student forgetfulness within school buses, which has recently been repeated in more than one area of ​​the country. The initiative is to design and install an innovative device to turn the bus engine behind the last seat so that the driver can not turn off the bus or turn it on unless it is accessed and press the key. This requires passing through all the seats and making sure that it is free of students. The safety of students, and thus reduce the risk of forgetting within them.

The head of the school, Aisha Al Mutawa, told «Emirates Today» that the innovative device limits the incidents of forgetting students inside the school buses that have been repeated tragically during the last period, pointing out that the switch to turn the engine on and off behind the last seat, the driver.

Al-Mutawa added that the school provided two buses with the 700-dirham device as an experimental stage, after being designed in cooperation with a company specializing in smart systems, to program engine operation and extinguishing. The experience has proved to be 98% success, pointing out that the decision of the school administration will be applied to the rest of its 80 buses, starting from the beginning of next academic year.

Al-Mutawa stressed the necessity of installing the device in school buses, clubs and centers, private and governmental, for its role in reducing the forgetfulness of students, noting that it ensures that the bus is free of students and requires schools to install it in its buses.

Al-Mutawa pointed out that the school has several precautions, procedures and standards to protect the safety of students and protect them from neglect, forgetfulness or bullying. The most important of these are two surveillance cameras in each bus, the first one in the front and one in the middle.
