"Bahrain will host a summit to discuss maritime security in the Gulf with the participation of 65 countries," said US Envoy to Iran Bryan Hawk.

"Iran continues to threaten maritime navigation and its attacks on ships and tankers will not be the last," Hawk said at a seminar at the Atlantic Institute on Wednesday.

He added that "the US sanctions on Iran will increase unless it accepts to return to the negotiating table without preconditions," noting that "the conference is expected to focus on Iran's threats to navigation."

The Atlantic Institute is an independent institution that promotes economic, political and cultural relations among NATO members.
