Three students at Khalifa bin Zayed School in Al Ain succeeded in creating a robot for agriculture in space, and they won first place in the "Creator 2020" competition in the space science category, where the robot can do agricultural tasks through remote control.

The team, Wahib Al-Shaibani, Abdul Qadir Al-Muslimi and Zaid Farhan, explained that their project was implemented under the supervision of the Emirates Foundation “youth”, and the school's scientific laboratory specialist, Mohammed Nizar, pointing out that the idea was born to them after NASA announced that space cultivation is a must for generations. Future explorers.

And they said: «We decided to take the initiative to harness artificial intelligence in creating a robot for cultivation in space, which can do all the agricultural tasks».

They explained that «the robot depends in its work on solar energy, and it performs four tasks during the cultivation process that include plowing the soil, putting seeds in it, and adding fertilizer to it in quantities commensurate with the need for each type of cultivated crops, in addition to irrigation tasks in modern ways that save water, given the lack of The availability of water in space.

They added: «The robot is equipped with solar panels to supply it with energy, a battery to store the surplus, a moving belt for planting seeds, and equipped with a water tank, and another for fertilizer, so that each type of seed is supplied with the quantities that suit it from fertilizer and water, to help the human in space to provide some human needs of materials Agricultural ».
