Today, the first round of the Vice President's Cup of Jujitsu will kick off, hosted by Sharjah Sports Club, with the participation of more than 150 Jujitsu athletes, representing 16 UAE clubs.

The Cup is the starting point for the new season and allows local sports clubs to compete to win one of the most important national titles.

The men's tournament exclusively comprises three categories: junior (under 18), youth (under 21) and men's (over 21), among eight weights between 46 and 94 kg for junior and six weights between 56 And 110 kilograms for youth and men.

The duration of the junior class is four minutes and five minutes for the youth, while the men are fighting six minutes. Al Ain Club, Al Jazira Club, Al Wahda Club, Emirates Club, Al Wasl Club, Fujairah Martial Arts Club, AFNT, Baniyas Club, Ajman Club, Al Ahli Dubai Youth Club, Sharjah Sports Club, 777 Team and Commando Group , Al Dhafra Club, Sharjah Martial Arts Club and Al Nasr Club.

Following the conclusion of the first round, which will take place today, the second and third rounds of the Cup will be held on December 13 in Fujairah and March 13 in Dubai.

It is noteworthy that the Jujitsu Federation unveiled the agenda of the new sports season 2019-2020, stressing that the total value of the prize money for the season is AED 2.6 million, with the exception of the Abu Dhabi World Championships for professionals with independent financial prizes.Also, a beach tournament was created, the first of its kind.

It is worth mentioning that after the first round of the Vice President Cup, the first round of the President's Cup will be held on the 6th of September in Al-Jazira Club Lounge and the first round of the Umm Al-Emarat Championship at Mubarak Bin Mohammed Hall in Abu Dhabi on 7 September. To the championship of tolerance, which will be held for the first time on the occasion of «Year of Tolerance», and hosted by Al Ain Club Lounge between 26 and 28, for the under-18 category of boys and girls.

Several tournaments will be held from October to the end of March.

The UAE will host the World Jujitsu Championship at the Mubadala Arena from November 16 to 24 under the umbrella of the International Federation, with the participation of more than 60 countries.
