UAE astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri is scheduled to spend eight days aboard the International Space Station from September 25 to Friday, October 4.
During his mission, Hazza Al Mansouri is conducting 16 scientific experiments in cooperation with international space agencies, including the Russian Space Agency Roskosmos and the European Space Agency, including six experiments on the International Space Station to study the interaction of biomarkers of the human body in space, compared to experiments conducted on the surface of the Earth, and study Bone status indicators, disorders of motor activity, perception and perception of time in the astronaut, as well as the dynamics of fluids in space, the impact of living in space on humans and the experience of the palm in space.
Al-Mansouri, who will carry the slogan of “Zayed's ambition,” will carry 10 kilograms of items to the International Space Station, including: a copy of the Koran with a photograph of the late founder's father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and a book of my story by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, family photos, souvenirs and 30 seeds of Ghaf tree.
Special Halal meals for Al Mansouri were prepared, including traditional Emirati cuisine such as Mudarubah, Balalit and Saloona. They were prepared in the form of cans and paste in tubes with special specifications and methods appropriate to the life conditions of the spacecraft.
Al Mansoori is the first astronaut from the Arab region to participate in research on the International Space Station, which will contribute significantly to enrich human knowledge and come up with a database that can be shared with various local and international bodies, which in turn will open new horizons in the global scientific community. The UAE will also become the 19th country to contribute to scientific research through data to be presented by Hazza Al Mansouri, and will be linked to the human body and life.
