February 27, 2020 "Words not stones". This is the pact that will be signed on Friday in Rome, at 9.30 am, in the headquarters of La Civiltà Cattolica (via di Porta Pinciana, 1), between the representatives of various religious denominations and the representatives of the category of journalists. Together with Raffaele Lorusso and Giuseppe Giulietti, general secretary and president of the Fnsi, Guido D'Ubaldo, secretary of the CNG, and Roberto Natale, coordinator of the scientific committee of Articolo21, confirmed their participation: father Antonio Spadaro, director of La Civiltà Cattolica; Paolo Ruffini, prefect of the Dicastery of Communications of the Holy See; Muhammad Abd al-Salam, secretary of the High Committee for the implementation of the document on brotherhood; Ruth Dureghello, president of the Jewish Community of Rome; Alessandra Trotta, moderator of the Waldensian Church; Rev. Elena Seishin Viviani and Giovanna Giorgetti, vice presidents of the Buddhist Union of Italy; Svamini Shuddhananda Giri, representative for the Interreligious Dialogue of the Italian Hindu Union; Abdellah Redouane, general secretary of the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy. The meeting will also be attended by the Minister of the Interior, Luciana Lamorgese and the Undersecretary for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with delegation to Publishing, Andrea Martella. Participants will sign a commitment to tackle the walls of hatred and the words of racism. They will be given a drawing offered by Mauro Biani.

Friday afternoon , at 3.30 pm, at the Fnsi headquarters (corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 349) there will be a meeting with families who have been able to transform pain into solidarity actions. Among the others, the Megalizzi and Rocchelli families will be present; Paolo Siani; Ilaria Cucchi and Fabio Anselmo; Francesca Andreozzi, president of the Giuseppe Fava Foundation; representatives of the Luchetta Ota D'Angelo Hrovatin Foundation and the Friends of Roberto Morrione association; the lawyer Giulio Vasaturo for the Alpi family.

To follow, from 17.30, in-depth analysis on "The role of the public service in contrasting hate speech", which will be attended, among others, by Fabrizio Salini, Giuseppe Carboni, Alessandro Casarin, Antonio Di Bella, Luca Mazzà, Giuseppina Paterniti, Marino Sinibaldi, Vittorio Di Trapani, Paola Spadari.

Saturday 29 February the event will continue, always at the headquarters of the Fnsi, starting from 9.30. To open the work in the Tobagi room will be Lucia Azzolina, minister of education, and Milena Santerini, national coordinator for the fight against anti-Semitism. With them also Antonio Nicita, commissioner of the Authority for guarantees in communications. Then space to the testimonies and speeches of threatened journalists and directors and to the contributions of the representatives of the Press Associations and of the regional Orders of journalists and associations that every day contrast the walls of hatred and racism, including Unicef, Carta di Roma , Auxilium, Free information, We antimafia, Giulia journalists. Together with the representatives of Amnesty International Italy, the appeal for the release of Patrick Zaki, the Egyptian activist and researcher in preventive detention from 7 February, will also be re-launched.

Finally, the delivery of awards to the director Giuliano Montaldo, for his 90 years, and to the journalist Vincenzo Mollica is expected.

Finally, on Sunday 1 March , at 10am, the inauguration of the "Memory Bench" dedicated to Roman Jewish journalists and printers who are victims of the deportation will be held at the Portico d'Ottavia. Ruben Della Rocca, vice president of the Jewish Community of Rome will be present; Mario Venezia, president of the Museo della Shoah Foundation; David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament.
