“Koutoritori” enters the atmosphere, burns out, completes the task of transporting goods, November 3, 14:43

In September, the Japanese space transport ship “Kounotori” No. 8, which successfully delivered goods to the International Space Station, entered the atmosphere on the South Pacific after 11am on the 3rd, almost as scheduled. Burned out and completed all missions.

In September, the Japanese space transport ship “Kounotori” No. 8 launched from Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture successfully delivered approximately 5.3 tons of supplies such as water and food to the International Space Station.

After loading supplies that were no longer needed, it was cut off from the International Space Station at dawn of 2nd Japan time and entered the atmosphere over the South Pacific after 11am on the 3rd.

According to JAXA, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, the aircraft was almost burned out as planned, and the remaining parts such as the unburned engine were safely dropped into the sea, completing all missions.

Stork succeeded in delivering goods to the International Space Station eight times from the first unit 10 years ago, and JAXA is developing a new space transport ship with the aim of starting operation in the next fiscal year.
