“Golden mines on Sado Island” Submitted a tentative recommendation to UNESCO

With the aim of registering the gold mines of Sado Island as a World Cultural Heritage Site, the government submitted a tentative version of the nomination form to UNESCO on the night of the 29th (Japan time), which was pointed out to be inadequate by UNESCO.

With the aim of registering Niigata Prefecture's Gold Mine on Sado Island as a World Cultural Heritage Site, the government submitted a nomination to UNESCO in February this year. I was preparing for it.

Then, on the evening of the 29th, Japan time, the government submitted a tentative version of the recommendation to the UNESCO World Heritage Secretariat in Paris, France, with the parts pointed out by UNESCO corrected.

From now on, we will coordinate the contents of the document with UNESCO by the deadline for submitting the official recommendation in February next year.
