She explained that the prices that have been reached for solar energy generation are the lowest, compared to its counterpart in the world, noting that the total capacity of solar plants operating and "under construction" in the UAE amounted to about 6 gigawatts.
This came during a virtual workshop entitled “Solar Energy Technologies”, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, as part of the “Inspirational Projects for Sustainable Energy” initiative series, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, Eng. Sherif Al Olama, and the Assistant Undersecretary for the Electricity, Water and Future Energy Sector Engineer Yousef Al Ali.
In her opening speech, Al Naqbi stressed that the "Inspirational Projects for Sustainable Energy" initiative comes within the framework of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure's support for the country's efforts to raise awareness and knowledge of modern technologies and innovations related to energy and electricity, and the importance of achieving sustainable energy resources.
She said that the ministry is keen on exchanging knowledge, promoting research and development in the energy, infrastructure, housing and transportation sectors, and cooperating with specialists and bodies with expertise in various fields that support the work system and future directions that support the UAE's leadership globally, noting that the UAE has set long-term goals for itself. field of clean energy.
