Chun Doo-hwan, who was accused of defaming lions in connection with the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement, departed for Gwangju to attend the first trial sentence as a defendant.

Mr. Jeon left his home in Yeonhui-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul at about 8:40 on the morning of the 30th, and went straight to Gwangju by getting on a waiting car.

In a memoir published in April 2017, Jeon was accused of accusing Father Jo as "a shameless liar whose word as a clergyman is unfamiliar," arguing that the testimony of the late Father Jobio's helicopter shooting was false.

Jeon's first trial sentence is scheduled to be held today at 2 pm in the Gwangju District Court Criminal Court.
