An incumbent police officer has been charged with assaulting a taxi driver while driving.



The Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul announced on the 6th (today) that Inspector A belonging to the 6th battalion of the Seoul National Police Agency was charged with assaulting a driver under the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes and is investigating.



Inspector A is accused of swearing and assaulting taxi driver B while riding a taxi near a large supermarket in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul at around 10:30 pm on the 4th.

Inspector A was found to have assaulted Mr. B by kicking him on the shoulder and grabbing his chin with his hand.



It is said that Mr. B drove a taxi directly to the police box and reported the crime of Inspector A.

The police plan to call Inspector A soon to investigate the circumstances of the incident.



A police official said, "There was no trauma to the victim, and the victim did not submit a medical certificate."
