Recently, 19 white rhinos arrived in Mozambique's Zinaue National Park after a 1,600-kilometer trek from South Africa.

This is the re-emergence of the white rhino in the Mozambique wilderness more than 40 years after its native extinction.

Zinawe National Park covers an area of 4,000 square kilometers and is rich in vegetation, but local wildlife has been devastated by decades of fighting and rampant poaching.

In recent years, the Mozambican government has been working hard to promote the restoration of the local ecological environment. Since 2015, 2,400 animals of 14 species have been introduced into the reserve.
