In Shijiazhuang, Hebei, Gong Lijiao’s mother, Chen Qiulan, was in tears while watching the live broadcast of the game. According to Chen Qiulan, Gong Lijiao did not return home this year because of preparations for the Tokyo Olympics.

Gong Lijiao's father, Gong Wenquan, said that what he looks forward to most is that his daughter will go home and have a family reunion after the game.
