It turns out that there are continuous attempts to bring so-called 'human flesh capsules' made of stillborn fetuses or placenta in pill form into Korea.

According to the data submitted to the National Assembly by the Korea Customs Service, 1,65 human flesh capsules were found in travelers' belongings from 2016 to last year.

The smuggling of human flesh capsules into Korea was first caught at customs in 2011, causing a huge social impact.

Since 2018, there have been no cases of detection for two years, but one case was caught again last year.

Some people misunderstand some human flesh capsules as a nourishing tonic, but experts point out that the manufacturing or distribution process is unhygienic and is rather harmful to health.

In fact, as a result of analyzing human meat capsules caught by the Korea Customs Service by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in the past, a large amount of contaminated bacteria and hepatitis virus were detected.
