When I received the news that I could go to the Beijing Winter Olympics, I was quarantined in the hotel room, and my first reaction was that I felt very excited, that I felt like I had worked so hard for so many years , I finally got a recognition, but my second reaction was that I felt a lot of pressure.

One day I saw a short track speed skating Olympic competition video on the Internet, and then I thought this project was very magical.

After I finished, I signed up for an interest class. It was the first time I put on skate shoes for short track speed skating. It was the first time I was on the ice rink in our shopping mall. It felt amazing, and that was exactly what I wanted to do.

To put it the most exaggerated time, when we were in college in the United States, we got on the ice at 4:30 in the morning, and then we had to be there at 4:00, so we all had to get up at 3:20, 3:30, and go home after the ice. Take a shower and go to school.

After school, you go on ice and then do land training. In fact, the time can still be arranged, but it is more difficult. You may have to take time to train and study, and you may not have a lot of time to play and communicate with classmates or friends. .

[Explanation] Zhu Dingwen, who regards the Winter Olympics as his goal, once hoped in the blueprint to represent Hong Kong, China at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics at the age of 18, and win a medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics at the age of 22.

However, on the eve of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, he was unfortunately injured during training, resulting in three fractures in his right ankle, missing his first chance to realize his dream.

Since I was injured, the Olympic dream has become more meaningful to me, so no matter how hard it is, no matter how many times I have been injured, no matter if I give up on the way (thought), I will always persevere. I hope to have it. One day on the platform of the Winter Olympics.

[Explanation] During the recovery process, Zhu Dingwen became clearer about the goal he pursued. He was determined to be on the stage of the Beijing Olympic Games in 4 years.

In fact, we have done a lot of preparation in the past four years, and our team is not easy, because we do not have an international standard short track speed skating training venue in Hong Kong, we have to go to many places in the mainland, Changchun, Dongguan, Beijing Going to the training camp, our entire team has not been home for four or five years for the New Year, so it is quite hard for our entire team, but all the preparations we have done are for the hope that one day we will be able to board the platform of the Beijing Winter Olympics. .

[Explanation] Zhu Dingwen recalled that when he first entered the Northeast, he was extremely unfamiliar with the local language, food and environment.

But after these four or five years of training, I have a new understanding of the local area.

As a Hong Konger, it is very rare to be able to live in the Northeast for a long time. I also fell in love with the Northeastern cuisine, and then I also met a lot of friends. Maybe I will keep in touch with some friends all my life, and I also learned about the customs of the Northeast.

[Commentary] The Beijing Winter Olympics are approaching. Zhu Dingwen said that he was excited to represent the Chinese Hong Kong team in the men's 500-meter short track speed skating event, made up for the regret of missing the last Winter Olympics due to injury, and successfully entered the coveted Winter Olympics stage for the first time.
