Seongnam City and Rep. Lee Jae-myung, who was the mayor at the time, are of the view that there is no problem because it is for the public interest.

Reporter Jeong Ban-seok will explain the expected issues and investigation points.

Rep. Jae-myung Lee explained that Doosan's sponsorship of Seongnam FC's advertisement was not originally promised, but Seongnam FC is owned by Seongnam City, so it is not a bribe.

The city of Seongnam also claimed that by attracting Doosan affiliates, it had effects such as increasing tax revenue and revitalizing the local economy.

It is known that the police raided Doosan E&C and Seongnam FC last month and listed Rep. Jae-myung Lee as a suspect in third-party bribery. I see it as the key to the investigation.

It is necessary to find out why the city of Seongnam, which had not accepted the proposal for a change of use for over 10 years, changed its position despite criticism that it gave Doosan Group a huge preference.

Therefore, what investigative authorities are paying attention to is the process of payment of incentives and where the donations are used.

The Seongnam Branch Investigation Team is said to have identified that former Seongnam FC Marketing Director Lee Mo, who is considered to be a close aide to lawmaker Lee, requested support from Doosan in the first place.

For three years from 2015, about 90% of the advertising orders paid by Seongnam FC was concentrated on three Seongnam FC employees, who are considered aides of Rep. Lee Jae-myung.

Lawmaker Lee's side said, "There were no close aides to Lee at Seongnam FC."
