A man in his 60s who assaulted a taxi driver for not playing the song he wanted was sentenced to probation.
The Seoul Western District Law Criminal 2 Exclusive (Deputy Judge Han Kyung-hwan) announced today (4th) that a 65-year-old A, who was handed over to trial for violating the Act on aggravated punishment for certain crimes, was sentenced to four months in prison and one year probation.
Mr. A was handed over to trial for assaulting a taxi driver while drunk in a taxi running on a road in Jung-gu, Seoul at around 8:30 pm on December 24, 2020.
At the time, it was investigated that Mr. A swears, saying, "Why don't you play Na Hoon-ah?"
The judge explained the reason for the sentence, saying, "Even though the defendant has many criminal records, it is inevitable to be sentenced to jail for committing a crime," and "considering the point of acknowledging and reflecting on his wrongdoings, agreements with the victims, etc."
The judge also ordered Mr. A to take 40 hours of violence treatment lectures.
