Over the past day, 17,717 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Russia.

This is the highest figure since the beginning of the epidemic.

According to the headquarters, in 26.5% of new cases, clinical manifestations were not observed.

Over the previous two days in the country, the number of recorded cases of COVID-19 was 16,202 and 16,550.

The total number of detected cases of coronavirus infection since the beginning of the epidemic in the country has reached 1,581,693, 1,186,041 patients (74.99%) have recovered, including 14,740 in the last day.

From complications that developed against the background of COVID-19, and concomitant diseases, 27 301 people (1.73%) died.

Over the past day, 366 deaths have been registered.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, more than 59.2 million coronavirus tests have been carried out in Russia at the moment.

During the day, specialists conducted 553 thousand tests for COVID-19.

368 thousand people remain under medical supervision.

The Ministry of Health believes that the current rise in the number of detected cases in the country will not last long.

According to the chief infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health, Professor Vladimir Chulanov, in three weeks, the situation may stabilize.

“Yes, it (the increase in morbidity. -

) will be longer than the first one, because, in principle, it is more extensive.

But, most likely, it will not be longer than two to four weeks, "RIA Novosti quotes him.

He also believes that the implementation of COVID-19 prevention measures, as well as the introduction of the vaccine, will improve the epidemiological situation.

“If mass vaccination begins now, it may generally change the course of the epidemic, because this is the most effective means of prevention.

And if it starts, of course, we have the right to expect that there will be a decline in this unfavorable epidemic situation, normalization, "Chulanov explained.

In turn, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy Director for Research of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Alexander Gorelov, spoke about the age at which children are most difficult to suffer from coronavirus infection. 

“Basically, the infection proceeds in a mild form in half of the patients, in a third - in asymptomatic forms, and a severe and moderate form is mainly recorded in children of the first year of life.

In children over three years of age, mild and moderate forms of the disease are mainly recorded, ”he said.

The largest number of new cases of coronavirus over the past day was detected in Moscow (4906), St. Petersburg (758), Moscow (514), Nizhny Novgorod (386), Arkhangelsk (319) and Rostov (312) regions.

The largest number of COVID-19 cases in the Russian Federation is in Moscow - 413 928. At the same time, 303 831 people recovered, 6644 patients died.

As noted in the Department of Health of the capital, over the past day, 1,166 patients with COVID-19 were hospitalized, 342 people are on mechanical ventilation in Moscow hospitals.

On the eve of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the extension until November 29 of a number of restrictive measures introduced in the capital to combat the spread of coronavirus infection.

According to the mayor, the situation in the city, despite signs of improvement, remains unstable and the risk of an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 cannot be ruled out.

We are talking about the prolongation of the home regime for the elderly and people suffering from chronic diseases, employers transferring at least 30% of employees to remote work.

In addition, city institutions of additional education and children's leisure organizations will be closed.
