Two prosecutors working in the Office of the Prosecutors' Office in the Ministry of Justice visited the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in Seocho-dong, Seoul, yesterday afternoon.
The two prosecutors are said to have brought an official letter from the Ministry of Justice and have demanded that the Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol be investigated face-to-face.
It seems that Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae has repeatedly ordered inspections on suspicions that President Yoon Suk-yeol was involved in concealing allegations of hospitality at the prosecutors.
However, it is known that President Yoon Seok-yeol returned the two prosecutors, saying,'It is not appropriate to send two review prosecutors without prior notice to conduct a face-to-face investigation.'
Officials brought by both prosecutors are known to have been returned unread without opening the seal.
In this regard, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office said yesterday to the Justice Department prosecutor Ryu-hyuk about the process of attempting a face-to-face investigation by the Prosecutor General, but the Supreme Prosecutor's Office said it was the first time he heard it.
It was also known that the order was canceled after a prosecutor of the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office dispatched to the Ministry of Justice in connection with the supervision of President Yoon Seok-yeol raised questions about the grounds for supervision.
The Ministry of Justice has not yet disclosed its position on the attempts to conduct a face-to-face investigation by President Yoon Seok-yeol.
