The Sharjah Book Authority is participating in the activities of the 52nd Cairo International Book Fair, which will be held during the period from June 30 to July 15, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement in Cairo, under the slogan “In Reading… Life”, under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

During its participation, the authority conveys Sharjah's cultural vision towards the book industry and the production of knowledge. In a special pavilion, the authority reviews the efforts led by the authority to support the book and the publishing industry, and opens opportunities for participating Egyptian, Arab and foreign publishers to benefit from the advantages of the "Sharjah Free Publishing City", while attracting pioneers Children's book from publishers, artists and writers, informing them of the message of the "Sharjah International Book Fair", "Sharjah Children's Reading Festival", "Sharjah International Agency for Literary Rights", and other efforts that constitute the presence of the authority with its cultural weight on the Arab and international levels.

During the official opening ceremony of the exhibition, the authority’s pavilion was visited by the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Minister of Culture, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, the head of the Arab Publishers Union, Muhammad Rashad, and a number of ministers and officials. They were received by the head of the Sharjah Book Authority Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri. Among the official figures, senior intellectuals, writers and Arab and foreign innovators.

Ahmed Al Ameri handed Dr. Mustafa Madbouly a signed copy of the book of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, “Inquisition Courts”, presented to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, in addition to a copy of the Prime Minister.

Mostafa Madbouly said: "The Egyptian government and the Egyptian people have all the love and respect for His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi."

Ahmed Al-Amiri said: “The realization of the conditions of any renaissance and civilized project starts with investing in the book, and this is what the Egyptian civilization has been based on since ancient times until today, and this is what His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who wrote the book. The cornerstone of the renaissance of Sharjah and the solid base on which the emirate builds its relations with Arab and foreign cities and cultural capitals.

He added: “The Cairo International Book Fair is one of the major and important fairs with a long history in the region, and we are keen annually to participate in its activities to deepen relations of cooperation and joint work with counterpart institutions in Egypt, learn about the latest experiences of creative industries in Egypt, and build effective communication channels to create events. And launching new and qualitative initiatives that serve the current and future of Arab writers and creativity.”
