The restoration work of the "Kawaraburo" on the riverbank of Misasa Onsen in Misasa Town, Tottori Prefecture, which was damaged by the record heavy rain in July, has been completed and is now available from this week.
The famous "Kawaraburo Bath" on the banks of the Mitoku River, which flows through the hot spring town of Misasa Town, was completely submerged in the water due to the record heavy rain last month, causing damage such as broken pipes and the washing room.
The local tourist association has been working on restoration work by removing mud and stones from the bath and rebuilding the dressing room, and it became available for the first time in about a month and a half on the 23rd of this month.
In preparation for heavy rain in the future, the new dressing room has also been devised to remove the skeleton to prevent it from being washed away when it rains heavily.
A man in his 60s who visited the bath said, "I think it will be difficult due to heavy rains nationwide, but I would like the locals to continue to do their best to protect the Kawaraburo bath."
Yuji Aioi of the Misasa Onsen Tourism Association said, "I think that the chances of going on a trip due to the corona sickness are decreasing, but when it converges, I definitely want you to come to the Kawaraburo bath."
