If there are more than 50,000 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 per day, some general wards without negative pressure facilities will be used as corona wards.

According to the guidelines for the business continuity plan of medical institutions released by the government on the 9th, each medical institution's response is divided into three stages according to the number of new confirmed cases.

The first stage is 7,000 to less than 30,000 new cases, the second stage is 30,000 to less than 50,000, and the third stage is more than 50,000.

Stages 1 and 2 are the time to prepare and transform the business continuity plan, and the highest stage, stage 3, is actually implemented.

In step 3, outpatient treatment is switched to non-face-to-face, and if hospitalization is impossible in the eupap ward due to the increase in the number of confirmed patients, a part of the general ward can be used as a corona ward.

If it is difficult to secure a negative pressure facility, it can be operated separately from the general ward.

If the medical staff is confirmed, they can work after 7-day isolation in Stage 1 and 5 days in Stage 2.

In step 3, after 3 days of quarantine, those who have completed the vaccination must be negative for rapid antigen test to be able to work.

“The business continuity plan sent to medical institutions now is a guideline for hospital level,” said Park Hyang, head of the quarantine division at Jung Soo-bon. There may be changes depending on the circumstances.”
