It is poverty that drives women from southern Nigeria to travel to what they believe is a better life in Europe, with dreams of working in a restaurant or hair salon. Very few people know that it is on the street that they will end up as prostitutes.
Before they go, they are cursed by ancient rites where a juju priest, a form of voodoo, sacrifices blood and spirits and retains hair and nail pieces from the women.
Florence Abu was one of the thousands of women. But she succeeded in freeing herself. She came back to Nigeria and made a difference.
