The report includes the "Global City Comprehensive Ranking" and "Global City Potential Ranking". The ranking shows that the gap between the average scores of Chinese cities and European and North American cities has further narrowed this year. In the past five years, the average annual compound growth rate of scores of Chinese cities has exceeded 3%, the fastest growth rate of all regions.

　　It is reported that the 2021 Global Cities Index report assesses 156 cities on the list based on a comprehensive analysis of more than 230 major cities in the world, including 31 Chinese cities.

　　In the comprehensive ranking, affected by the epidemic, all regions except China have experienced a growth of less than 1% or even negative growth in their average scores. However, only China has relied on strong epidemic response measures to achieve rapid recovery, and the average score of cities exceeds 3. %.

In the past five years, the compound annual growth rate of Chinese city scores is also the highest among all regions.

　　According to the above report, in 2021, three cities in China (Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shanghai) will enter the top ten cities in the world, which is the same as the number of cities on the list in the United States (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago), surpassing Europe (2) and the rest of the Asia-Pacific region ( 2).

　　Kearney recommends that city leaders focus on five aspects, namely, successfully absorbing global talents, actively embracing the digital economy, balancing resources to build economic resilience, actively responding to climate change, and vigorously improving the happiness of residents.

　　"These five strategically focused opportunities are also applicable to Chinese cities." Kearney Director Zhou Pengyuan said that although the epidemic has brought a lot of physical connections to international exchanges, non-physical connections still exist.
