"Dubai Economy" violates 56 commercial establishments for not complying with Corona measuresدا

The Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector of the Dubai Economy has violated 56 commercial establishments for not adhering to the announced precautionary measures to combat the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) and limit its spread, the most important of which is the use of masks and maintaining physical distance, in open market stores and commercial centers.

The violations of commercial centers amounted to 32 violations of non-compliance with physical distancing and non-compliance with wearing masks, 20 violations of restaurants and cafes serving meals inside the restaurant after the permitted hours, and 4 violations of non-compliance with precautionary measures in open market stores, where the violating stores were distributed among a number of commercial centers and markets. Open in areas: Al Barsha, Hor Al Anz, Dubai Marina and Seih Shuaib.

The major discounts during the weekend contributed to raising the percentage of visitors to malls in Dubai, which in turn caused some merchants to not adhere to the instructions for physical distancing, especially in controlling the number of shoppers inside stores, and organizing queuing in front of payment counters.

Dubai Economy indicated that, by continuing its tours in cooperation with various partners from the authorities concerned with combating the Covid-19 pandemic, it focuses on inspection campaigns on commercial centers and places that may witness gatherings, in order to ensure the safety of all members of society, while emphasizing not to tolerate violations and abuses that are monitored or reported by the public.

The "Dubai Economy" stressed the need for merchants to fully comply with precautionary measures, whether for workers or shoppers, such as using masks and applying physical distancing, and that adhering to preventive measures avoids exposure to large financial fines or exposure to closure, preserves people's health and helps society to overcome the current stage in peace.

The department called on all segments of the public to immediately report any negative cases or phenomena that violate the precautionary measures through the “Dubai Consumer” smart application, or by calling 600545555 or via the consumerrights.ae website.
