"China 5G Development and Economic and Social Impact White Paper (2021)" released

The conference released the "White Paper on China's 5G Development and Economic and Social Impact (2021)" in the afternoon.

The white paper pointed out that in the first half of 2021, the global 5G wireless access equipment market reached 13.3 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 43% over the same period last year, of which China contributed 44% of the global market.

  The white paper stated that Chinese companies accounted for more than half of the global market, but the development of overseas markets was hindered.

Among them, in the first half of 2021, Huawei's market share steadily ranked first, with Ericsson, ZTE, Nokia, and Samsung ranked second to fifth respectively.

In overseas markets, Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, and Huawei are among the top four.

  In terms of 5G mobile phones, from January to October 2021, China's 5G mobile phone shipments exceeded 200 million units, a year-on-year growth rate of 68.8%, driving a 12.0% growth in mobile phone shipments over the same period.

In the first half of 2021, 5G mobile phone shipments in China's domestic market accounted for more than 50% of global 5G mobile phone shipments.

China's domestic mobile phone market is undergoing a new round of adjustments, and market competition has promoted the improvement of China's domestic 5G mobile phone performance and prices.

  At the same time, as of the end of September 2021, the number of 5G terminal connections in China reached 445 million, accounting for more than 80% of the global share, and the penetration rate of 5G users exceeded 27%. Video, cloud games, AR/VR and other fields have layouts.

As of the end of September 2021, China Telecom and China Unicom have built more than 500,000 shared base stations, saving more than 100 billion yuan in construction costs and saving more than 12 billion kWh of electricity each year.

  In addition, 5G commercialization will make important progress in 2021, which will further expand its economic and social impact. It is expected that 5G will directly drive a total economic output of 1.3 trillion yuan in 2021, directly drive an economic added value of about 300 billion yuan, and indirectly drive total output. About 3.38 trillion yuan, indirectly driving the economic added value of about 1.23 trillion yuan, an increase of 33%, 39%, 31% and 31% respectively over 2020.
