Abdul Hamid Al-Khashabi, the spokesperson for “Aswaaq Group” centers affiliated to the Government Investment Corporation of Dubai, said that the “group” has allocated investment allocations for its expansions, during the current and next two years, with a value of 73 million dirhams, including the establishment of warehouses and commercial centers.

Warehouses and outlets

He explained to "Emirates Today" that the group's investment operations during the current year included the establishment of warehouses in the "Al Qusais" area on an area of ​​132 thousand square feet, at an investment cost of 20.3 million dirhams, in addition to establishing three retail outlets in Dubai at an investment cost. Six million dirhams.

He added that these outlets were established in the areas: “Umm Suqeim” and “Dubai International Financial Center”, in addition to another outlet in the Dubai Autism Center building in the “Al Garhoud” area, stressing that these areas were chosen to serve residential areas where there are no large sales outlets near them. For retail, or to serve areas witnessing a tourism boom.

Commercial centers

Al-Khashabi pointed out that the group's investment expansion plans, during the year 2021, include the establishment of three new commercial centers for shopping in Dubai, each of which includes a "supermarket" of "aswaaq", with an investment cost of 20.7 million dirhams, indicating that the centers will be established in "Muhaisnah 1", "Al Warqa 4" and "Al Safa 2" areas, in addition to investment plans that include expansion of the Group's shopping center in "Al Barsha South 1" at a value of 12 million dirhams.

He confirmed that the group also intends, as part of its plans to expand during the next year, to establish a commercial center for shopping in the Hatta area, at an investment cost of four million dirhams, to serve the region’s residents and the tourism activity there, indicating that the new commercial center in “Hatta” keeps pace with the directions of the Dubai government. By directing more investments to serve the development of the region's facilities.

He mentioned that the group’s expansion plans include setting up five retail outlets at a cost of 10 million dirhams during the next year, pointing out that the total number of outlets affiliated with “aswaq” is currently 22 branches in Dubai, after the recent establishment of the three new branches.

He revealed that the group intends to expand during the next year outside the Emirate of Dubai, for the first time, by studying the establishment of outlets in Sharjah, Ajman, and Al-Ain.
