Nordhorn (dpa / lni) - According to the police, dangerous wolf tourism has developed on the training area of the Air Force Nordhorn Range.

The officials warned on Thursday against entering the military security area in the border area with the Netherlands, in which there are ammunition residues from about a hundred years.

The alleged hobby wolf watchers even lit small campfires there.

This could be fatal because of the contaminated explosives.

According to research by the police state security in social media, there is a group of more than 700 alleged wolf friends on Facebook who are tracking the pack residing on the Nordhorn Range.

Those who enter the military security area without proof of authorization face criminal proceedings, it said.

The area is also a nature reserve and the wolf is one of the strictly protected animal species.

Deliberate disturbance of such animal species is prohibited.
