February 22, 2021 Coming from an elite unit of the Carabinieri, Vittorio Iacovacci, killed today in the Democratic Republic of Congo, was an actual member of the XIII Regiment Friuli Venezia Giulia based in Gorizia.
Iacovacci had also obtained brilliant results in his career at GIS.
Returning to Gorizia for personal reasons - writes Infodifesa.it - Iacovacci was assigned to Kinshasa in a very difficult context. Until now he has been part of the 'close protection' team, together with other operators of the XIII Regiment.
Iacovacci's family is originally from Sonnino, in the province of Latina. The military community and that of his town remember him with affection and admiration. For the day of the funeral in Sonnino, city mourning was proclaimed.
