Still connected to ADSL, or finally connected to fiber?

The search for ever more efficient internet speed, for individuals and businesses alike, involves the deployment of fiber optic networks.

In France, according to the latest data from the OECD, 27.6% of fixed broadband internet connections used this technology in 2020, compared to less than 5% in 2015.

Is it a good score?

In other words: where do we stand in the race for optical fiber across the globe?

South Korea is the world champion in this area, with nearly 84% of connections via fiber last year.

Japan, Lithuania and Sweden follow.

And if France is below the OECD average (29.2%), it can claim to be ahead of the United States and Canada, but also its Italian, German and British neighbors.
