Video .. "DP World" begins operating "Luanda Port Terminal"

DP World, the leading global provider of smart logistics solutions, has started operating the multi-purpose terminal at Luanda Port.

The multi-purpose terminal was handed over to DP World - Luanda by the Port of Luanda after signing a 20-year concession contract last January.

DP World - Luanda is investing $ 190 million (about 697 million dirhams) to improve the terminal and help the country of Angola achieve its ambitions for economic growth and make it a trade center on the western coast of the southern region of Africa, and the terminal is the eighth port facility currently managed and operated by DP World in Africa and the Middle East region.

Improvements are currently underway at the container terminal, with the purchase of new equipment, including 30 trucks, six container handling vehicles, four empty container cranes and four forklifts.

New personnel facilities will also be built shortly and new rubber tire gantry cranes will be integrated into the terminal equipment, which will be the first of its kind in Angola.

The gantry cranes improve efficiency, are compatible with environmental requirements and allow better use of the container yard at the terminal.
