17 December 2020 "The number of Italian sites registered in the world heritage list rises to 69. A new record that confirms the richness of the widespread national cultural heritage and that enhances the commitment of communities in the enhancement of that set of knowledge and traditions that distinguishes them ".
Thus the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, comments on today's proclamation of the recognition of two additional Italian elements in the Representative List of Humanity, which took place in the context of the XV Session of the Intergovernmental Committee of the Unesco Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage :
the musical art of the players of the hunting horn of the
crew of the Reggia Venaria in Turin e
the Art of the glass bead
represented by the Committee for the protection of glass beads of Venice.
The candidacy process, in both cases of a multinational level, was coordinated by the Unesco Service of the General Secretariat of Mibact, in collaboration with the communities and ministries of Culture of France, Belgium and Luxembourg and officially presented to the Intangible Heritage Secretariat of Paris in March 2019. Particular methodological evaluations and of relevance to the methods and purposes of implementation of the Convention, were expressed by the International Evaluation Body and confirmed in the Committee itself.
With the two inscriptions, UNESCO has recognized 14 Italian elements of intangible cultural heritage, which are added to the 55 Italian sites recognized as world heritage.
