The Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics revealed that the UAE's non-oil foreign trade recovered during the third quarter of 2020, after it was relatively affected by the new Corona virus (Covid-19), during the second quarter.

According to the center, the total of that trade during the third quarter reached 374 billion and 988 million dirhams, compared to 274 billion and 657 million dirhams during the second quarter of 2020, with an increase of 100 billion and 331 million dirhams, and an increase of 36.5%.

Non-oil trade

In a report on the UAE's non-oil trade, the center revealed that the country's total non-oil foreign trade during the first nine months of 2020 (the period from January 1 to the end of September 2020) amounted to about one trillion and 33 billion and 314 million dirhams, with a total trade weight of 159 million and 181 thousand tons.

He added that the total value of non-oil exports amounted to 191 billion and 322 million dirhams, while the value of re-exports reached 269 billion and 104 million dirhams, while the value of imports reached 572 billion and 888 million dirhams.

According to the center's data, September 2020 witnessed the highest value of trade during the first nine months of 2020, with a value of 142 billion and 488 million dirhams, and the value of exports and re-exports increased for the first time over the value of imports by 10 billion and 214 million dirhams, as the value of exports and re-exports Exports are 76 billion and 351 million dirhams, compared to 66 billion and 137 million dirhams for imports.

UAE exports

China came at the forefront of the UAE's imports from foreign markets, with a total of 102 billion and 453 million dirhams, or 17.9% of the total value of the UAE's imports during the first nine months of 2020, followed by the United States, with imports from them amounting to 46 billion and 945 million dirhams, or 8.2%, Then India, with a value of 45 billion and 222 million dirhams, or 7.9% of the value of imports.

Gold tops 182 billion dirhams

Re-export

Saudi Arabia ranked first, in re-exports with a value of 55 billion and 380 million dirhams, and by 20.6% of the total re-exports of the state, followed by Iraq with a value of 30 billion and 182 million dirhams, 11.2%, then China with a value of 15 billion and 476 million dirhams, and by 5.8% Of the gross.

Country groups

The center's data revealed that non-Arab Asian countries led groups of countries in non-oil trade, recording 390 billion and 774 million dirhams, followed by the group of European countries with a value of 186 billion and 914 million dirhams, and a third group of Arab Gulf states with 153 billion and 708 million dirhams.
