The suspect, arrested on Saturday in Rillieux-la-Pape (Rhône), just a few hours after the discovery of tags threatening the mayor of the city with beheading, is an 11-year-old minor.

The information was revealed on Tuesday afternoon by the Lyon prosecutor's office.

Several inscriptions were found on March 6 on the walls of a school group.

Tags that targeted both the police but also Alexandre Vincendet, the LR mayor of Rillieux-la-Pape.

Five individuals, spotted on the spot, were suspected of being the perpetrators, including the 11-year-old teenager.

Criminal reparation

“This minor will be subject, given his age, to an alternative measure to prosecution in the form of criminal compensation entrusted to the judicial protection of young people,” specifies Nicolas Jacquet, the public prosecutor.

Investigations are continuing to identify and challenge the other perpetrators of this action ”.

In Rillieux-la-Pape, classified in January among the districts of “republican reconquest”, 13 vehicles were set on fire on Friday, in a context of urban violence, which left the Duchère district in Lyon the day before.

Thursday evening, clashes erupted between the police and young people from La Duchère, accusing the police of being at the origin of the serious scooter accident of a 13-year-old boy.

Riding without a helmet, the teenager fell heavily and is still in a coma.

His entourage explains that he was being pursued by an unmarked police car, which the Rhône prefecture and the police refute.
