Earlier, the media reported that the State Department had notified European companies of the risk of sanctions for helping to build the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed confidence in the implementation of the project. 

Nord Stream 2 AG will begin laying pipes in the Danish Exclusive Economic Zone on 15 January.

At the same time, the newspaper Politiken, citing sources, reported that the Danish engineering company Ramboll refused to participate in the completion of the gas pipeline due to the threat of sanctions from the United States, becoming a "victim of the conflict."
