China News Service, Beijing, January 26 (Reporter Sun Zifa) The Scientific Ethics Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (the "Ethics Committee") on the 26th issued the official website of the Faculty on Rao Yi's "Official Report on Lin-Pei (1999) Paper Suspected of Academic Misconduct "The handling opinion said that since the joint working mechanism has made a clear investigation conclusion on the reported paper, no further investigation will be conducted on the report involving the papers of Pei Gang and others.

  According to the Ethics Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Rao Yi reported to the committee on January 21, 2021 about "Formally Reporting Lin-Pei (1999) Paper Suspected of Academic Misconduct", which was studied by the Eleventh Meeting of the Sixth Ethics Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The handling opinions are as follows:

  One is that the paper involved in Rao Yi’s report is the same paper that questioned Academician Pei Gang on the Internet in November 2019 (LingK, etal. PNAS, 1999, 96: 7922-7927).

  Second, on January 21, 2021, the joint working mechanism of the joint conference on scientific research integrity construction composed of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Health Commission, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Engineering, the Natural Science Foundation of China and other departments issued the "Related Papers" on the website of the Ministry of Science and Technology. "Notice on the Investigation and Handling of Suspected Falsification", in response to the paper reported by Yu Raoyi, it has clearly stated that "no falsification was found after investigation."

  Third, in accordance with the Disciplinary Measures of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Provisional), in view of the fact that the joint working mechanism has clear investigation conclusions on the papers reported by Rao Yi, the papers involving Pei Gang and others (LingK, etal. PNAS, 1999, 96) :7922-7927) reports will no longer be investigated.

  When the Ethics Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences issued its handling opinions, it also specifically mentioned that in accordance with the requirements of the Disciplinary Measures of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Provisional), Academician Pei Gang of the Committee avoided this meeting.
