The military department noted that about 150 thousand women-soldiers were awarded government awards, orders and medals of the Soviet Union for military exploits, selfless labor in the rear units and formations of the Red Army.
Moreover, during the Great Patriotic War, 90 women were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
In a special section of the Ministry of Defense, archival documents about the military exploits of women on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War are presented, including award materials, pages of front-line newspapers, reports and orders of the command, as well as "other evidence of their glorious military deeds."
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Russian women military personnel in 2020 received more than 300 state awards, including 31 military ones.
