According to RIA Novosti, the department noted that the ministry is working with industry associations and large manufacturers in order to prevent an unreasonable increase in the wholesale cost of products and keep it at an affordable level.
“Thus, in 2021 there are no prerequisites for a significant increase in prices for poultry and eggs, which, in general, according to the forecast, will remain within the framework of food inflation,” the press service said.
Earlier, the Association of Retail Trade Companies (AKORT) told Izvestia that retailers were ready to raise prices for eggs and poultry meat.
At the end of January, General Director of the National Union of Poultry Breeders Sergey Lakhtyukhov commented on the situation with prices for chicken eggs.
